What is RFID Locks and how does it works?

RFID Locks (subscription required) are becoming more popular. Since these devices broadcast a unique serial number, it’s only a matter of time before a significant percentage of the people can be tracked with them.

RFID Locks stands for Radio Frequency Identification, and it is a remote radio-based identification technology / system that move on a power source (batteries or power otherwise obtained), and has commonly been used in various industries and for various things, includes:

  • Tracking of people and things
  • Contact-free payment methods and billing
  • Timing events
  • Security measures

These days, RFID Locks is still used for these purpose, but finds many other applications.  You track (by way of ID) almost anything, including furniture, lockers, cars, books, and countless, etc. So many different types of locks are available like Keypad Locks, Biometric Locks, Combination Locks, Biometric Locks, Cam Locks, Industrial Locks, Pad Locks, etc
